Balance Terms
Last updated · 26 August 2026
These Balance Terms govern funds credited to a Cartridge Club Account for later purchases. Cartridge Club uses the term “Balance” exclusively; Balance is not transferable between users and may be withdrawn through customer support.
Nature of Balance
Balance is contractual store credit issued by ALDERROCK LTD for use only toward eligible purchases sold by ALDERROCK LTD through Cartridge Club.
Balance is not accepted by any person other than ALDERROCK LTD and cannot be used outside Cartridge Club. It is not a bank account, savings account, investment, credit facility or general-purpose payment instrument.
Balance does not represent ownership of a segregated bank account in the customer’s name and does not earn interest, rewards, yield or bonus credit.
Eligibility and Account requirement
You must be at least 18 years old and hold an active, verified Account to fund, use or withdraw Balance.
The Account name, email and payment information must be accurate. We may request reasonable verification before accepting a top-up, purchase or withdrawal.
Balance is personal to the Account holder and may not be sold, assigned, gifted or transferred to another Account or person.
Funding Balance
Balance may be funded using a supported Visa or Mastercard payment through the Balance top-up function.
A top-up becomes available after payment authorisation, fraud checks and successful posting to the Account. A pending or declined transaction does not create available Balance.
Cartridge Club does not presently impose general standard minimum or maximum top-up or holding limits. Individual transactions may nevertheless be restricted by card issuers, payment providers, legal obligations or proportionate fraud and security controls.
You confirm that you are authorised to use the funding method and that funds are not derived from unlawful activity.
Currency and conversion
Each Account maintains Balance in one designated currency. Supported transaction currencies on Cartridge Club are EUR, GBP and USD.
When a top-up or purchase is initiated in a currency different from the designated Balance currency, the amount is converted using the rate or converted amount displayed before confirmation.
Exchange rates may change between transactions. A later withdrawal or refund may therefore have a different equivalent value in the currency of the original card.
A bank, card issuer or payment provider may apply its own exchange rate or cross-border charge. Such third-party charges are not controlled by Cartridge Club.
Using Balance
Available Balance may be used to pay for eligible Digital Products offered through Cartridge Club.
The purchase amount is deducted when the order is accepted or otherwise as disclosed at checkout. If available Balance is insufficient, you must top up or use another payment method offered at checkout.
Split payment between Balance and a card is available only where the checkout expressly offers it. We are not required to complete an order that exceeds available Balance.
Using Balance does not change the product’s delivery, activation, refund, region or Platform conditions.
No expiry and no bonus amounts
Available Balance does not expire merely because time passes or the Account is inactive.
Cartridge Club does not currently award promotional, matching or bonus Balance. Every funded amount represents value paid by or returned to the customer.
We will not impose an inactivity deduction unless required by a future change in law and introduced through a fair advance notice that preserves existing mandatory rights.
Withdrawal of available Balance
You may request withdrawal of unused available Balance by emailing info@cartridge-club.com from the Account email address.
A withdrawal request must identify the Account and requested amount. Never send a full payment card number, card security code, password or authentication code by email.
We will normally return funds to the original funding method where technically possible. If that method is unavailable, we may request a lawful alternative method held in the Account holder’s name.
We may complete reasonable identity, ownership, payment-source, sanctions and fraud checks before releasing funds. We process an approved withdrawal without undue delay after required checks are completed.
Before completing a withdrawal, we will explain any applicable currency conversion or third-party processing consequence known to us. We do not deduct amounts that are not lawfully due or clearly agreed.
Amounts unavailable for withdrawal
Only cleared, unused Balance is available for withdrawal. Amounts reserved for a pending order, subject to a payment dispute, reversed by a payment provider or connected to a suspected unauthorised transaction may be temporarily unavailable.
We may pause only the amount reasonably connected to an investigation and will release or return it when the issue is resolved, unless law or a binding payment reversal requires otherwise.
We will not send a withdrawal to an unrelated third party or use Balance as a money transfer service.
Refunds to Balance
A refund for a purchase paid entirely from Balance is credited back to Balance unless mandatory law requires or we agree to another method.
For a supported split payment, the Balance-funded portion is normally returned to Balance and the card-funded portion to the card.
Once a refund has returned to available Balance, the customer may use it for another eligible purchase or request withdrawal under these Terms.
Payment reversals and negative Balance
If a top-up is reversed, charged back, refunded by a card issuer or found unauthorised after the corresponding Balance has been spent, we may reverse the affected credit.
If reversal creates a negative amount, we may restrict further purchases or withdrawals and request payment of the lawful outstanding amount.
We will not treat a good-faith report of an unauthorised payment as abuse. We may investigate evidence and coordinate with the payment provider before taking permanent Account action.
Security and prohibited use
Balance must not be used to conceal the source of funds, process payments for another person, evade country restrictions, conduct unauthorised resale or facilitate fraud.
We may delay or reject a top-up, purchase or withdrawal where reasonably necessary to comply with law, sanctions, payment rules or proportionate security controls.
You must notify us promptly if an Account or funding method is compromised. We may temporarily secure the Account while the report is investigated.
Account closure
You may request Account closure after outstanding orders and disputes are resolved. Before closure, you may spend or request withdrawal of available Balance.
If we close an Account, we will take reasonable steps to return remaining available Balance to the verified Account holder, subject to lawful deductions, payment reversals and restrictions imposed by law.
Account closure does not erase transaction records that we must retain for legal, tax, fraud prevention, dispute or accounting purposes.
Records and corrections
The Balance activity shown in the Account records top-ups, purchases, refunds, withdrawals, conversions and reversals.
Report a suspected error promptly. We may correct a clear technical or accounting error after notifying you and providing a reasonable explanation.
A displayed amount created by an obvious system error does not entitle a customer to withdraw or spend value that was not actually funded, refunded or otherwise lawfully credited.
Changes and legal status
We may update these Balance Terms for legal, regulatory, security or operational reasons. Material changes affecting existing Balance will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible.
We will not retrospectively remove valid Balance or introduce an expiry merely through a policy update, except to the extent required by law or necessary to correct fraud or error.
The legal and regulatory treatment of stored value depends on how a service operates. We may modify or suspend the Balance feature if necessary to comply with financial services, consumer protection, sanctions or payment requirements while taking reasonable steps to protect customer funds and rights.
